Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will play a crucial role in the growth of OpenCities. The Business Development Representative (BDR) is instrumental in developing and aggressively growing OpenCities’ sales pipeline. This role involves prospecting outbound leads through tactics including calling, automated nurturing, email, and more.
You will partner with other members of the Growth Team (sales and marketing) to create outbound messaging that positions OpenCities as a thought leader in the industry.
The BDE wears multiple hats and works cross-functionally to close new business. We see this role as an entry point to further opportunities within OpenCities. For those looking to build a career with an innovative software company, this is your ideal opportunity.
What You Will Be Doing
Actively pursuing prospects within your assigned territory through multiple channels (phone, email, social, etc.) to educate them on the value of OpenCities and set meetings to demonstrate the product
Understand and effectively communicate OpenCities’ product offerings and answer inquiries from prospects
Stay current on product features, advantages, and benefits to ensure accuracy during qualification/lead generation
Read, review, and ensure each qualified lead or account is properly documented in our CRM system-including
Partner with other growth team members to create a territory strategy plan
Provide notes to the salesperson that you’ve gained from your conversations with the prospect that will help the salesperson on their calls and provide feedback to our product and marketing teams
Demonstrate consultative sales approach by creating value-based partnerships with prospects
Meet daily/weekly/monthly sales activity expectations
Perform other related duties as assigned
What We Require of You
Minimum 1+ years sales experience, preferably in business development, lead generation, outbound calling or equivalent
Interest in providing services to government organizations that help them increase customer satisfaction
